Hello, it's Roger here.

Now, have you heard about Google+ (pronounced Google Plus) ?

Just when we thought Facebook had it all sown up or astablished as The Social Media King, along comes a new kid on the block, a very big kid too !

Google has just taken a giant step directly into the Social Media, Facebook's, market! ouch!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Let's welcome the first serious contender to the Facebook Crown.

Now, what is Google+ You ask?

Google+ is Google's very own social network.

Now they had a 'soft' launch at the end of June.

Google+ opened their doors and gave a sneak preview on Wednesday afternoon (The 29th of June 2011) for those fortunate enough to have received invitations.

The demand for access was so huge, that within a couple of hours they had closed their doors already!

Now, lets have a quick look at Google+!

New Terms for Us To become familiar with!

Google+ will be introducing some new words and terms into online vocabulary very soon.

Just as how a few years ago, You never would have heard Yourself talking about a WALL or NEWS FEED! Now get ready to be using terms such as:

Circles -: Will enable You to share content with certain groups or subsections of friends, colleagues, family members or classmates, etc. You will then be able to share relevant content specific and targeted to that particular group of contacts.

Hangouts -: Will enable You to connect with friends in a new and unique way, sort of like a personal chat group! Instant Messengers don't really that accomodate this, however, Google believes that Hangouts will. Google+ allows on-screen social platforms called hangouts, with your friends and family.

Sparks -: Will enable You to gather and enjoy content on the web based on our interests and likes. Sparks will collect the content for You based on what You are interested in, so that You will always have a steady stream of content to enjoy and share alike.

Mobile -: Now this is exceptional! Google+ will be fully integrated into Your mobile phone, utilizing your phones basic functions (GPS, Camera, etc) to create an easy-to-share Google+ experience.

I would have to say that Google+ looks pretty good! Don't You agree?

Rumour has it that an equivalent of Facebook's Fan Pages will be available soon also for Google+

At the moment Google+ is not open for the online public.
